Fall in Santa Fe and Albuquerque - 2013 Events



This fall, Santa Fe is playing host to a series of events ideal for a ‘mancation’ itinerary or a family vacation. Ranging from car shows and balloon fiestas to food festivals and dynamic outdoor adventures, the City Different is keeping buddies and families well fed and well entertained. A sampling of events coming up in the City Different this fall are detailed below:

Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta – September 25-29, 2013
Celebrating fine wine and good chile, the Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta is an annual five-day weekend of events featuring the culinary artistry found in Santa Fe’s restaurants coupled with the sophistication and wines of national vineyards. Ninety wineries will partner with 75 of Santa Fe’s best restaurants, for a series of food and wine events, cooking demos, wine seminars, winery luncheons and dinners. The weekend culminates with the Grand Tasting at the Santa Fe Opera where participating restaurants and wineries serve samples of their best food and wine. Santa Fe Concorso – September 27-29, 2013
For car aficionados, the Santa Fe Concorso is back for its fourth year as one of the premier automotive gatherings in the Southwest. A celebration of all things automotive, this boutique classic car event focuses on unique, high end and special cars and features vehicles that are owner-nominated and from museum collections across the country. The event will be held at The Club at Las Campanas and general admission tickets start at $45. Conveniently, this gathering overlaps with the renowned Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta, combining for a weekend full of delicious eats and distinctive cars. Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta – October 5-13, 2013
The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, a world-renowned attraction and the largest hot air balloon festival in the world, will take place this October over a nine day span. The balloon fiesta, which began in 1972, attracts over 100,000 visitors from around the globe.  Hundreds of balloons will take flight this year, and those who attend will have the opportunity to sit back and enjoy the view with friends and experience an event that for decades has left bystanders in awe. Porsche 356 Registry Holiday – October 9-13, 2013
The Porsche 356 Registry Holiday brings together hundreds of iconic Porsche 356 classic cars and their owners for a long weekend filled with tours, a car show, autocross and tech sessions. This year, the historic La Fonda Santa Fe is the selected headquarters hotel for this 356 Registry West Coast Holiday 2013. A free public viewing of all registered Porsche 356 cars will take place on the Santa Fe Plaza on Saturday, October 12, beginning at 7:30 a.m. All other events taking place during the long weekend, including dinners, organized tours, drive-outs and more, require pre-registration.
