A Warm and Sultry Art Walk in Jerome Arizona on August 7th

A warm and sultry night filled with art, music and gallery hopping is in store on August 3rd for First Saturday Art Walk in Jerome.  Visit 23 galleries and studios throughout this charming mountain town from 5:00-8:00PM. A free shuttle runs during the walk, from the newest studios at The Old Jerome High School up to Main Street and the gallery of Patrick Lincoln and Made in Jerome Pottery.

Pura Vida Gallery will be ringing in monsoon season during the August 3rd Art Walk with new wind chime designs by Bottle Benders.  Each wind chime is handcrafted from kiln fired recycled bottles and each has its own unique tinkle.  Join Pura Vida Gallery for champagne and chocolates on the evening of the Art Walk.

New member, THE ART ROOM @ The Old Jerome High School (above the gymnasium) by day is a functioning classroom for students and at night becomes a gallery show room that can host special events. We are currently featuring the oil paintings and woodblock prints of douglasweber.net.

Huichol Indian jewelry and wool yarn art pictures now available at Casa Latina. These colorful and highly detailed works of art represent symbols of nature. A fragile, indigenous culture, Huicholes have lived isolated high in the mountain ranges of the Sierra Madres since Pre-Columbian times. (Huichol is pronounced WEE CHOLL)  Come join us for refreshments and great music by in-house artist Duane Ewing in the Merchants Gathering building.

“On Being Present...” All new work by watercolor artist Judy Jaaskelainen debuts at theJerome Artists Cooperative Gallery, opens Saturday Aug. 3rd, 5-8 P.M. The new paintings Ms. Jaaskelainen is presenting as the featured artist at Jerome Artists Cooperative Gallery Saturday August 3 thru October 3, 2013, are more examples of her experience of life happening on a daily basis. The artist enjoys scenes that cause her to want to stop,“ take a deep breath and savor a moment here and there.” She extends her thanks to Cornville wood artist Phil Wright for creating some of the beautiful frames used in the exhibit.

Zen Mountain Gallery

Tom Ogburn Contemporary Art will be exhibiting new digital images and landscapes of Jerome and the outlying area during the month of August, and on Jerome Art Walk weekend, at the Old Jerome High School. welcomes new blown glass treasures from Jim Antonius and amazing furniture from wood wizard Ron Gill. Susan Pitcairn will be on hand to take pre-orders for her new book titled “Spirit of the Earth”. Enjoy spectacular pastel and oil landscapes from this accomplished painter/poet. Marian Ward has created new displays for her amazing fine silver and precious metals jewelry. Ardis Harsche has been busy creating a new piece for this month’s event and Lorraine Fexas has a new collection of fused glass wine bottle/. With a little luck, ceramic artist Brandi Lee Cooper will have a kiln full of new work at the August event including platters, mugs and bowls. Shane McDermott continues to amaze with his stunning photographed images on metal. Stop by for some good conversation and a glass of wine mixed with some wonderful art.
