From local music
and world-class opera to chamber music and national performers, there is music
everywhere in Santa Fe.
Santa Fe’s music scene
could not be more diverse, especially in the summer when all of the city’s
stages are filled with performers from around the world. The city is a
crossroads of creativity and its musical heritage is as old as Santa Fe’s
founding more than 400 years ago and as fresh as tomorrow.
In addition to prolific talent in Santa Fe, there are new
and ever more popular venues including the spacious green grass at the Downs of
Santa Fe, the cozy Santa Fe Railyard
Plaza, the indoor/outdoor performance space at Santa Fe Sol and the Bandstand on the Santa Fe Plaza in
historic downtown. Add to these the spectacular Santa Fe Opera amphitheater, the intimate St. Francis Auditorium, the
outstanding acoustics and site lines at the Lensic
Performing Arts Center and the city’s many bars and restaurants featuring
music.
Here is some of what the summer holds for visiting music
